Sailors often whisper to each other about the old legend of Mad Tongue Murphy, the delirious castaway who was rescued at sea. Some tales say that he was driven mad by his long, lonely days of drifting, while others insist that he was cursed when he landed on a mysterious island, a place he often raved about in his crazed ramblings. The only records of his travels lay in his journal, which has now fallen into the capable hands of Professor Hugo Fairweather, archeolinguist and expert of ancient lore. Only time will show what he can make of it...

CHAPTER 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS


On the 30th day of Eating, the Journey to the Lost Isle began...



Journey Begins


The plot starts with a comic. Chapter 1 features a Tonu named Professor Hugo Fairweather, giving a presentation about a lost isle. His daughter, Lilian Fairweather, and his assistant, Werther, support him while others are less than friendly. When things get a little crazy, one Neopet stands up and says he will join them -- adventurer Roxton A. Colchester III. The group goes in search of a ship to take them on this journey. They finally find a captain, Rourke, to take them. The next morning, they board the ship, the SS Primella, and start their journey.


PUZZLE 1: CLEANING THE DECK


When Chapter 1 was released, a new link was added to the journal page that let users reach the deck of the SS Primella.

Onboard the ship, Scrap the Stowaway is told by Captain Rourke to clean the deck. In this puzzle, Scrap's job is to fit items in a square so that the deck is more organised. There are three levels/decks for Scrap to organise during the voyage to help him earn his way. All of the puzzles are random so there is no key.

CHAPTER 2: THE ISLE


On the 2nd day of Hunting, the Journey to the Lost Isle continued... The story continues with the ship wrecking on an island that they believe is the isle they have been looking for! As the group explores the island, they come upon monsters that they couldn't have ever imagined.

CHAPTER 3: MYSTERIOUS TEMPLE


As Chapter 3 starts we find our adventurers fleeing through the forest. As they are looking for somewhere to hide, they stumble upon a mysterious temple...


PUZZLE 2: THE LOCK


When Chapter 3 was released, a new link was added to the journal page that took users to the door of the Mysterious Temple.

Whoever built the temple didn't want just anyone getting in. There is a lock with three different combinations that you needed to break before you could enter. There are three levels/locks for the adventurers to figure out in order to escape to the inside of the temple. All of the puzzles are random so there is no key.

CHAPTER 4: INSIDE THE TEMPLE


The story continues with the adventurers finding sketches of Petpetpets, drawn by whoever had built the temple. However, while exploring the inside of the temple, our group receives a rather nasty fright. One of the Petpetpets has found them, and it is not happy...

CHAPTER 5: THE SEPARATION


In Chapter 5 the professor and Werther find their way back to the ship. However, Roxton and Lilian are not so fortunate...


PUZZLE 3: BUILDING THE SHIP


After Chapter 5 was released, a new link was added to the comic's last panel that led you back to the ship.

From there you had to travel through a maze of jungle paths to find items to help you repair the ship. In order to rebuild the ship, you need to find ten items. Some of the items needed to repair the ship were not found in the maze. The jawbone was found by clicking on a pixel area on the map, the thorns were found by reading chapter 4 of the comic, the mussel shell was found by reading chapter 6 of the comic, and the hammer was found after you solved the lock puzzle. The items found in the maze were: a branch, vines, steam vent, wheel, bucket, and some planks. After you found all of the items, you had to use them to repair the ship in this order: Vines, planks, thorns, hammer, bucket, branch, steam vent, wheel, mussel shell. The vines are used to tie up the ship, the planks, thorns and hammer are used to repair the hole, the bucket is to remove water, then you repair the steam vent and the wheel, and last you use the mussel shell to cut the vines.

CHAPTER 6: BACK TO THE SHIP


As Captain Rourke and the rest of the group rebuild the ship to get off of the island, Roxton and Lilian run for their lives. They have several close calls and fight the Giant Petpetpets the whole way back to the ship...

Now that the crew thinks they are safe, they relax a bit and reflect on what happened during their adventure.
